Mechanical deformation behavior in nanocrystalline metals, thin films, nanointerconnects and ceramics, in particular to develop more faithful physical based understanding and modeling strategy for grain boundaries in nanocrystalline metals and ceramics; and develop methods on modeling the reliability of small-scale structures where mechanics and mass diffusion are coupled; and investigate the mechanical behavior in metals under the influence of diffusion, corrosion, and deformation. |
